 Two Fantastic Upcoming Concert Opportunities

Elisabeth von Trapp in Concert

Thursday, October 6th at 7 p.m. in the Old South Sanctuary:

Elisabeth von Trapp, whose family inspired the story of The Sound Of Music, will be here at Old South to perform with her acoustic guitar and beautiful voice.  Building on her famed family’s passion for music, Elisabeth has created her own artistic style, at once, ethereal and earthly, delicate and powerful.  Listeners have likened her to July Collins and Loreena McKennit.  Critics have called her voice…”hauntingly clear” “joyfully expressive” and “simply beautiful.”

Elisabeth has enthralled audiences from European cathedrals to Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center.  And we are sure she will enthrall us here in Reading!

She asks only a free will offering at the time of the concert, and gives back to Old South 10% of all proceeds.  The concert is free, but tickets are necessary to make sure we have a seat for all who want to attend.  Tickets are available at the church office, during Coffee Hour or from members of the Music Committee, and, of course, at the door, the night of the concert. Consider inviting friends to this inspiring event.

Thule Sizwe: The Group Zulu

The Group Zulu has had to cancel their upcoming October 19th concert at Old South United Methodist Church due to some last minute visa issues.  They hope to put a Spring Tour together on the East Coast when, hopefully, they will be able to perform at our church.  Our apologies for the cancellation!
